SUMMER JAZZ CAMP
The Jazz Center of Bellingham’s Summer Jazz Camp is a 5-day jazz performance intensive for students high school age and older.
Our 2026 camp takes place at Western Washington University's Performing Arts Center from July 6th through the 10th.
Instructors are professional jazz musicians and educators. Students rehearse in a small combo setting and receive instruction in jazz theory, improvisation, jazz history, small group performance, and more. The week culminates in a professional recording experience.

Daily Camp Schedule
Each day at camp covers a variety of subjects and the main focus is small ensemble playing. An average day at camp may look like:
9:30am: Group Jam and Warmup
10:00am: Combo Rehearsal or Masterclass
12:00pm: Lunch
12:45pm: Combo Rehearsal
2:15pm: Group Reflection
Other activities include sectionals, listening sessions, and a nature walk.

Camp Details
When: July 6-10, 2026; 9:30am to 2:30pm M-Fri.
Where: WWU College of Fine & Performing Arts
Cost:
Before May 1st: $275
After May 1st: $350
Cancellation Policy:
If a student requests a refund up to 14 days prior to the first day of camp, they will receive a full refund for tuition, less a $50 nonrefundable fee.
If a student requests a refund 13 or less days prior to camp, they will receive a 50% refund less a $50 nonrefundable fee. This incudes a cancellation on the first day of camp.
Refunds requested after the first day of camp will be denied. Appeal of the denial will be considered by the board for extenuating circumstances.
